RadioOnFire.com - Last week the world learned about the story of Baltimore, Maryland native Korryn Gaines who was shot and killed by local police after an 8 hours standoff. In addition to Gaines losing her life in the standoff with police, her 5-year-old son, Kodi Gaines was also shot in the arm during the crossfire and is currently recovering in the hospital after undergoing surgery. However, Kodi’s injuries weren’t the only thing that sparked outrage. Shortly following his arrival to the local hospital, a family member filmed the young boy giving his account of what happened leading up to his mother’s death, where he concluded the cops let out the first shot, and his mother returned two before being fatally shot. As a result, the family is now demanding answers from the powers that be and recently filmed themselves speaking on Gaines’ murder after being turned away from the operating room where young Kodi was undergoing surgery.
In the footage published, Gaines’ relatives speak out about unfair treatment by hospital officials, after both Kodi’s father and grandmother were denied access to the operating room. According to the man who claims to be Gaines’ cousin, the hospital not only didn’t allow any family members to be in the operating room alongside young Kodi, but he also stressed the fact that the hospital took painstaking lengths to make them feel unwanted such as having Gaines' whole family wait outside. Not to mention an extensive list of do’s and don'ts to follow, beefed up security, and an interrogation by the police.
