Mac of No Limit on Serving 30 Years for Manslaughter, Lyrics Used in Trial

RadioOnFire.com - McKinley "Mac" Phipps, also referred to as "Mac the Camouflage Assassin", was sentenced to 30 years in prison for manslaughter in the shooting death of a teen fan in 2001. Now having served 16 years of his sentence he talks to DJ Vlad about being a 24-year-old No Limit celebrity to having it all stripped away in the blink of an eye. Although Mac will celebrate his 39th birthday behind prison walls, he explains what happened that night and why he feels police covered up their mistakes and pinned him for the murder despite evidence proving his innocence.
In addition, Mac says he believes that a jury of white men and women over the age of 40 didn't help his case, especially when the prosecutors played his music in court to make him appear barbaric. "We're in this to make this money and we're feeding a market that demands this type of content. At the end of the day, I wasn't walking around shooting people in real life, and I wasn't walking around selling drugs to people in real life. In fact, I don't talk about selling drugs in my songs because that's something that I never did, and any violent content that I spit in my songs [were] basically stuff I know people wanted to hear. And if that could be used against me in court, that is dangerous."
