Parent Company of Hot 97 Addresses Jay Z Buyout Rumors

RadioOnFire.com - When a rumor emerged last week on gossip site MediaTakeOut that Jay Z has plans to purchase New York radio station Hot 97, plenty of hip hop fans found the claim to be quite believable, as it would be just one more acquisition for the business mogul with a net worth of over half-a-billion dollars. Plenty of discussion ensued on blogs and social media, with Hot 97 personalities Ebro and Peter Rosenberg even addressing itduring a segment Tuesday morning.

Well, it finally looks like the rumor has been put to bed. Hip-Hop Wired reached out to Emmis Communications, the parent company of Hot 97, to see if the rumor was anything more than hot air and got a definitive answer.

"That story is false," Emmis press rep Kate Snedeker told the hip-hop blog.

You think Hov snatching up Hot 97 would've been a good look? Let us know in the comments.
