Coolio Pulls No Show in Court for Felony Gun Charges

RadioOnFire.com - Coolio didn’t show up to a recent court date for felony gun charges that could land him in jail for three years if convicted.
The rapper got off easy as the hearing was rescheduled by the judge to Oct. 26 with no further penalties. His lawyer told the judge that he had to miss court because he had to perform in St. Louis and couldn’t make it back in time.

Coolio was arrested after boarding a plane at LAX last month. He attempted to bring a loaded gun through the airport’s security. The weapon was transported inside a book bag that belonged to his entourage and found when TSA scanned it. His rep initially told TMZ that it belonged to his security guard. “Upon arrival, airport police immediately took possession of a carry-on bag in the X-ray screening belt and detained a 39-year-old black male [the bodyguard] who claimed possession of the bag,” said a LAPD public information officer to US Weekly in September. Upon further questioning, Coolio admitted that the book bag with the gun inside belonged to him. Police also determined that the firearm had been stolen. Members of his entourage were also booked at the time.
