The self-mutilating trend follows Beyonce's bloody performance at the Tidal x Benefit concert on Saturday [October 15]. While performing "Haunted," Bey sustained a tear to her earlobe, when her earring got snagged by her braid.
"Only a real fan would defend their queen like this," one die-hard fan wrote, beneath a photo of her sliced up wrist. Another proud follower of the Beyhive posted a photo of blood dripping from a cut, beside a caption that read, "If the queen bleeds the hive must unify and leak our blood to restore her spirits."
The fad is believed to have taken off after the hashtags #CutForBeyonce and #BleedforBeyonce began trending on social media over the weekend.
