Darrelle Revis Facing Robbery & Assault Charges After Altercation in Pittsburgh

RadioOnFire.com - Criminal charges are pending against NFL cornerback Darrelle Revis, following a physical altercation that Pittsburgh police have confirmed involved the New York Jets star. There are conflicting reports as to how the incident unfolded and who the aggressor was, but what investigators have disclosed is that two men have had witnesses back their claim that they were assaulted by Revis, while his spokespeople contend that his actions were a matter of self-defense.
According to reports, Revis was in town to visit family and to scope out a site he is in the process of developing, when at 2:43 am an argument broke out between Revis and a 22-year-old man who had begun recording video of him. "At some point, Revis snatched the cellphone away and attempted to delete the video," a statement supplied to police reads. The veteran defenseman is then said to have tossed the phone into the street, prompting a 21-year-old witness to retrieve it. Witnesses have come forward to claim that both men would find themselves on the opposite end of Revis' punches, resulting in them allegedly being knocked out for 10 minutes.
Revis' attorney has given a different account of what happened, detailing how he says the football veteran knocked the cell phone to the ground after he was shoved by one of the men. Revis would subsequently find himself being attacked by up to 5 men, his attorney says. "He feared for his safety," his lawyer says. He is reported to have sought medical attention after the incident.
Revis has yet to be arrested, but faces a slew of charges, including robbery, making terroristic threats, conspiracy, and aggravated assault.
