Floyd Mayweather to Talk with Chris Brown, Says the Fight is Happening

RadioOnFire.com - Despite early confirmation from Chris Brown himself via Instagram, that he and Soulja Boy indeed have plans to meet in the ring, many have remained skeptical as to whether their celebrity boxing match will actually go down. Their prospective battle took on life after 50 Cent told followers that promotion of the event had changed hands from Adrien Broner to Floyd Mayweather, leading to ESPN and other mainstream networks reporting on the developments as though they were set in stone. In an interview released by FightHype.com on Tuesday, Mayweather put any skepticism to bed, by promising that he will deliver the fight.
"I have been talking with Soulja Boy, and I look forward to sitting down with Chris Brown, and uh, talking to Chris Brown and seeing what we could come up with," said Mayweather. "No one has seen me come on record and say anything. But I did come on record and say that Mayweather Promotions is doing this fight."
Since taking reigns over the anticipated event, Mayweather has released a couple of flyers that promote it as a Pay-Per-View card organized to encourage viewers to "Put The Guns Down... And Put On The Gloves." While details on who will battle on the under card and what the exact date will be have not been made official, Mayweather was last said to be eyeing a March date, with Las Vegas' MGM Grand possibly playing host.
