LAPD Saves Kurtis Blow After Suffering Heart Attack At Bus Stop

RadioOnFire.com - Hip Hop nearly lost another pioneer but it was the LAPD who stepped in and saved his life.

According to ABC 7 News in Los Angeles, Kurtis Blow aka Kurtis Walker was at a Woodland Hills bus stop arguing with his son when he suffered a heart attack. Police, who initially believed they were dispatched to respond to a robbery call, saw Walker collapse. After five minutes of performing CPR on Walker, paramedics arrived to transport him to the hospital.

Recovering at a local hospital, Walker issued the following statement:

“The police saved my life, a Black man. In this day and age, people need to hear that!” he said in a statement.

“They got there so fast. If they got there any later, I would have died. I want to thank the officers from the bottom of my heart, no pun intended,” he said.

Score one of the LAPD and the Culture doesn’t have to mourn another hero.
