Syracuse Soccer Player Hanna Strong Suspended After Racist & Homophobic Slurs Caught On Tape. Black Athletes Reactions Divided

An undated video showing a white Syracuse University soccer player hurling homophobic and racist slurs at a person filming her is causing controversy.
Hanna Strong, a senior, is seen on the tape arguing with a black male who has his hands up.
“If you touch me, it will be over,” Strong tells him before noticing she is being filmed. “Are you recording this? You f***** a** n*****. It’s b*******. Call me out on saying the n-word? I don’t give a s***. Don’t record me saying this!”

Daryl Gross, Syracuse’s director of athletics, issued a statement on the student's comments.
“This type of intolerant and hurtful language, focused on both race and sexual orientation, is not part of the culture we seek to foster among our student-athletes and it has no place at Syracuse University,” Gross wrote. “Syracuse Athletics, as a strong and diverse part of this University community, has zero tolerance for these actions.”
Strong has been suspended indefinitely from the team sparking a debate on social media among the school's former and current black male athletes.
