Conviction For Assaulting Former GF Nicole Holder Over Nelly Gets Greg "Da Kraken" Hardy Deactivated By Carolina Panthers

Greg Hardy and Nicole Holder
The Carolina Panthers have deactivated star defensive end Greg "Da Kraken" Hardyfor today's game against the Detroit Lions.
The Panthers were receiving considerable criticism for allowing Hardy to continue playing following his July conviction for assaulting a female and communicating threats against former girlfriend Nicole Holder.

Holder says the 6'4", 290 lb player attacked her because of a brief relationship she had with Nelly while she and Hardy were broken up.

In a 911 call placed by Hardy he asked for help in getting Holder out of his house. He said she was the aggressor and had hit him with her shoe. He also told the operator he believed Holder was high on cocaine.
“Like, yo, she’s out of it, my man,” Hardy said during the call. “And she will not stop coming at me, bro.”
After being found guilty by a Mecklenburg County district judge Becky Tin, Hardy's attorney asked for and was granted a trial by jury.
The trial will start on November 17th in appeals court.
