Oprah Winfrey To Play Richard Pryor's Cruel Grandmother Who Raised Him In A Brothel In Biopic

Oprah Winfrey has been cast to play Richard Pryor's grandmother in an upcoming biopic about the legendary comedian. As we previously reportedMike Epps landed the role of Pryor.
Pryor's widow, Jennifer, told TMZ that Oprah lobbied hard for the role of Marie Carterbecause she wanted to show another facet of her acting ability.

Carter raised Pryor after his mother abandoned him at the age of 10. She was very cruel to him. Pryor was exposed to a lot of things a child shouldn't see because his grandmother was the madam of a brothel in Peoria, Illinois.
Lee Daniels, the biopic's director posted a photo of himself, Epps and Oprah on Instagram.
