DeAndre Hopkins to Continue Wearing Yeezy Cleats if Kanye Covers Fine

RadioOnFire.com - Thanks to a little promo from a couple of the NFL's biggest stars, the newly released Yeezy cleats sold out just hours after they went on sale to the public for $250 on Thursday morning, September 14. Last week, Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins tweeted out a photo of his unboxed pair of the Adidas footwear, with a caption that read, "Next level. Thank you @adidasFballUS and @kanyewest." He would then go on to wear the cleats during Houston's Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears; which would constitute a clear violation of the league's uniform policy.
Days before Hopkins put the Yeezy 350's on, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was seen sporting a pair of Yeezy 750 during warm-ups. Unlike Hopkins, Miller wasn't fined for breaking the dress code, as the infraction is reserved for those who are out of compliance with guidelines that ensure all players are in uniformity during game day. Hopkins would be called to cough up $6,000 for the violation, a penalty he says he is unwilling to continue to incur, unless, Kanye West plans on helping out. “Only if Kanye wants to pay the fine,” Hopkins responded, when asked by a reporter whether he planned on sporting the popular kicks in his upcoming game.
The NFL has long been regarded as a "no fun league" by critics of it's strict uniform policy. Fans will recall Pittsburgh Steelers DeAngelo Williams and Will Gay being reprimanded by the front office for altering their uniform to raise awareness of domestic violence, with Gay wearing purple cleats, and Williams inscribing the phrase "find a cure" in his eye-black. New York Giants stars Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham Jr. placed the policy in the hot seat on Sunday, when they dared the league to fine them for wearing cleats with the design of the American flag, in honor of September 11.
