RadioOnFire.com - Five people were hospitalized, with one reported to be in critical condition, following a shooting that authorities allege to have involved members of Rich Homie Quan's entourage, in North Carolina early Sunday morning [September 11]. The Atlanta rapper had been performing into the early hours, at a club in New Bern, after a day of performances which included an appearance at the East Carolina Music Fest, along with Mario, Uncle Murda, and Ralo, before the drama ensued outside of the establishment.
Reports of the incident detail police arriving at the Diamond Club in response to a call about a shooting at around 3 a.m. The violence was reported to have broken out in the parking lot of the club, and although there is no word as to whether RHQ was out among the melee, he indeed had still been present at Diamond Club when officers arrived, with reports indicating that he was questioned by authorities. Specifics into the motive behind the shooting and who might have been directly involved is still being investigated, but the Craven County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that associates of Rich Homie had been in a confrontation leading up to the gunfire.
There were no recorded fatalities from the incident. Two of the victims were airlifted to the Videant Medical Center, and three transported by vehicle to the Carolina East Medical Center, where they are recuperating from their injuries.
