RadioOnFire.com - ABC News aired an exclusive, consisting of a video statement and a text message bombshell, provided by Chris Brown and his legal team on Tuesday morning, [September 6]. "I cannot wait till the truth comes to light about this incident and this situation," Brown says in the recording, as he goes about declaring his innocence in relation to charges levied against him, following his arrest at his L.A. mansion last week. Coupled with Brown's testimony, was what high-powered attorney Mark Geragos believes is incriminating evidence against his accuser Baylee Curran, in the form of text messages in which she allegedly informed a friend about her having the motive to set him up.
"This freak Chris Brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friends jewelry fake," one of the messages reads. It is followed up with a more menacing text, which hints at her intention to plot on the 27-year-old R&B singer. "I'm going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me, and that will teach him a lesson I'm going to set his ass up."
Brown became the center of a scandal that ballooned on [August 30] when news of an alleged standoff with police hit the presses. Media outlets immediately reported on accusations that he had threatened a guest with a gun, after Curran claimed that Brown had put the firearm to her head and told her to get out, over an incident involving jewelry. Brown would refuse to exit his quarters until a warrant was issued, and while still holed up in the house, he posted a video of himself sounding off on the presence of police, through a video that he has since deleted. According to Geragos, police did not recover a gun nor jewelry during their search of the home.
Curran has responded to news of the text messages by denying their validity and promises to continue pursuing charges against Brown. He is due back in court on [September 20].
