The Baltimore Music Awards (BMA) is an annual awards show created by Diamond K (Dwayne Williams) to honor the achievements of Baltimore's entertainment community. This years ceremony marks the 6th year of this red carpet event. Unlike the Grammys, which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the BMAs are determined by a poll of the public and fans, who can vote at BaltimoreMusicAwards.com
The winners are determined by a 2 level voting process which consists of a nomination period (April-Aug) from which 3 finalist are determined and the actual voting on the finalist. Polls are open from September - December of every year.
The 2016 Baltimore Music Awards winners will be announced at the red carpet ceremony Tuesday December 6th. Below are the finalist for this year.

Dancehall Reggae is a big part of Baltimore's music scene and I am surprised that you don't even have a category for reggae.
