Grand Jury Does Not Charge Ferguson Officer in Michael Brown Shooting

RadioOnFire.com - A St. Louis County grand jury has brought no criminal charges against Darren Wilson, a white police officer who fatally shot Michael Brown, an unarmed African-American teenager, more than three months ago in nearby Ferguson.

At a news conference, the St. Louis County prosecutor, Robert P. McCulloch, said that members of the grand jury deliberated for more than two days before finding that no probable cause existed to file charges against Officer Wilson.

The decision set off a new wave of anger among hundreds who gathered outside the Ferguson Police Department. Police in riot gear stood in a line as demonstrators chanted and threw signs and other objects toward them as the news spread. One woman said: “The system failed us again.”

Mr. Brown’s family issued a statement expressing sadness but calling for peaceful protest and a campaign for body cameras on police officers nationwide. “We are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequence of his actions,” the statement said. “While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen.”

Mr. McCulloch said that over 25 days, the grand jury heard more than 70 hours of testimony from 60 witnesses, including three medical examiners. In its deliberations, the grand jury considered five possible charges ranging from first degree murder to involuntary manslaughter.

He declined to release the vote of the grand jury, which was made up of nine whites and three blacks, saying that the process was secret.

The killing on a residential street in Ferguson set off civil unrest — and a national debate — fueled by protesters’ outrage over what they called a pattern of police brutality against young black men.

The St. Louis area has been steeped in anxiety as it has waited for a decision by the grand jury, which was made up of nine whites and three blacks and had been meeting on the case since Aug. 20. Around the region, law enforcement authorities were on alert Monday, and the Missouri National Guard stood by as word of the decision began leaking out; political leaders, including Gov. Jay Nixon, held last-minute meetings with community members; and residents, including parents of schoolchildren, braced for what might come next.

'Heavy Snow' Predicted To Hit The Northeast On Wednesday!

RadioOnFire.com - Several inches of snow are possible west of Interstate 95 on Wednesday, but more of a wintry mix of rain and snow is expected for Thanksgiving travelers along the busy corridor, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm watch is in effect for Wednesday in Carroll, Harford and northern Baltimore counties, with 6 inches or more of snow possible.

The weather service is calling for 1-3 inches closer to I-95 and less than an inch of slushy accumulation to the southeast, closer to the relatively warm waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Forecasting models are suggesting that a low-pressure system will form over the Carolinas and sweep up the coast. But, as is often the case with these early-season coastal storms, it's difficult to pin down a precise track -- and thus, precise precipitation forecasts. How closely the storm hugs the coast helps to dictate both how much precipitation falls and whether it falls as rain or snow.

Regardless, it is likely to be a messy travel day up and down the East Coast, with the weather service predicting "heavy snow" from the mid-Atlantic into New England.

Ex-NBC Employee Says He Sent Money To Women For Bill Cosby! - "I Felt Like A Pimp!"

RadioOnFire.com - Things seem to be getting worse for Bill Cosby. A former employee of NBC Entertainment who says he worked for Bill Cosby has come forward to claim he regularly brought young women to Cosby's dressing room. He also says he was asked to send money to multiple women over the years.

Frank Scotti claims that as Cosby's right-hand man, it was once his job to guard the door after bringing young women to Cosby's dressing room in Brooklyn, but that he doesn't know what went on behind closed doors. 

"I felt like a pimp,'' Scotti, 90, told Kate Snow in an interview that aired on TODAY Monday. "Every time he had somebody I had to watch, I had the girl stay there. I felt dirty."

Philly Rap Vet Cool C To Be Executed In Jan For 1996 Cop Killing!

RadioOnFire.com - Philadelphia Rap vet Cool C, real name Christopher Roney, is scheduled to be executed for the killing of a Philadelphia police officer during a bank robbery in 1996.

Roney was a staple on the Philadelphia rap scene releasing his debut single, “Juice Crew Dis” in 1987 and the memorable “Glamorous Life” in 1989. Roney was also a member of the group C.E.B. (Countin’ Endless Bank) with Steady B (Warren McGlone) and Ultimate Eaze.

Things took a turn for the worse when Cool C and Steady B, along with another rapper Mark Canty, attempted to rob a PNC bank in Philadelphia, where Roney shot and killed Police Officer Lauretha Vaird. Roney was arrested and convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to death. Vaird was the first African-American woman to die in the line of duty on the Philadelphia police force.

Roney was granted a stay of execution in 2006 and has maintained his innocence in the case, but according to The Times Dealer, Philadelphia Governor Tom Corbett  signed an execution warrant for Cool C on Friday November 21st.

Cool C is currently an inmate at Pennsylvania’s State Correctional Institution at Greene and is scheduled to be executed on January 8th, 2015.

Manny Pacquiao Already Preparing For Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight After Destroying Chris Algieri "The Fans Deserve That Fight"

MACAU -- Manny Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roach revealed they are already preparing for the fight boxing craves more than any other – a mouthwatering showdown against pound-for-pound No.1 Floyd Mayweather.

After dismantling out-matched opponent Chris Algieri with a unanimous points decision that included six knockdowns at the Venetian Macao's Cotai Arena in the early hours of Sunday, the Pacquiao camp made their strongest statements yet on the matter, all aimed directly in Mayweather's direction.

"People can prepare for (a fight) early next year," Pacquaio said. "It is a fight that I want. It is a fight the fans deserve."

Less than an hour after Pacquiao's resounding victory over Algieri, the Filipino 35-year-old and his advisers revealed a series of fresh pieces of information that painted the picture that a Mayweather fight is closer than the public had dared to imagine.

Roach, the mercurial trainer who has played a major role in masterminding his ascent to the top of the sport, also seems to have played a surprising role on the promotional side that could make the difference in the previously-doomed super fight happening.

Around four months ago, Roach was a central figure in setting up a meeting between Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum and CBS chief executive Leslie Moonves, who controls the Showtime network, with whom Mayweather is four fights into a six-bout deal worth $250 million.

Since then, Arum and Moonves, who had had previously frosty relations for several years, have held advanced discussions about Pacquiao and Mayweather squaring off.

Asked if he trusted Mayweather, Arum replied, "No", before adding "but I trust Les Moonves. For the head of CBS to spend that much time on something would be counter-productive if it was (nonsense)."

According to Roach, Arum has told him that a deal will get done, prompting the trainer to have already starting watching tape on Mayweather in order to get ready for a fight with the 37-year-old American. Roach originally analyzed Mayweather back in 2009, when it appeared the pair would meet before talks collapsed.

Mayweather has been steadfastly reluctant to fight Pacquiao and the biggest stumbling block remaining will be to convince him to sign on the line. However, Moonves may be the deciding factor, with the political weight in the fight game and the financial power he carries.

If this proves to be yet another false dawn ahead of another contractual collapse it would be a devastating blow for boxing. Mayweather and Pacquiao are the two dominant fighters of their generation and even if both are slightly past their peak, the matchup would still be hugely anticipated.

"If boxing is to be considered a major sport the fight has to happen," Arum said. "All the nonsense has to cease. Everyone should work together to make that fight happen. There are no excuses any more. I will be at the phone. We are ready."

Arum says the fight would gross in excess of $200 million, meaning Mayweather could pocket more than $80 million, far above his previous high of $41.5 million for fighting Canelo Alvarez.

"It would be a very challenging fight. He would be the best we have ever faced. I will really have to do my homework. I love Manny (to win) that fight and I look forward to getting him ready for it."

Roach, even with his own preparations underway, still feels Mayweather could need a nudge in the right direction, prompting him to kick the trash-talking into gear already.

"It will haunt them forever if it doesn't happen," Roach added. "They will always be in a conversation and someone will say 'why didn't you fight him?' Maybe calling (Mayweather) out, calling him chicken, we will embarrass him into it."
