Boxing: Bob Arum Claims He Paid J. Prince $600K To Save Floyd Mayweather From Getting Hurt

RadioOnFire.com - Bob Arum loves to hear himself talk and I am sure a large majority of the things that come out of his mouth are pure bs. With that said, this story feels pretty damn genuine, although I wouldn’t be surprised if Floyd had a different take on it. Arum was on ESPN’s “Highly Questionable” yesterday where he talked about many things but none more interesting as this.

Rap-A-Lot records CEO J.Prince has had a reputation for decades that he is not to be played with. He handles his business and doesn’t like games when it comes to money. Once upon a time he was Floyd’s manager before alot of the glamour and glitz that you know him for now.

Prince’s contract with Floyd was about to run out and he was trying to coordinate with Bob Arum to schedule his next fight AFTER the contract ran out, likely because he didn’t want to pay him and he thought that would be the way around it.

Well according to Arum, Floyd severely underestimated who he was dealing with as J.Price sent people to Arum’s gym to beat down a few associates of Mayweather as a warning. It didn’t take long after that for Floyd to run to Arum and tell him he needs to pay Price to make him go away and just like that he wrote him a check for $600,000! Now as you know Arum & Floyd these days are far from friends so I am sure he was trying to embarrass him a little bit with this story.
