Government to Take Half of Prince's Estate, $100 Million, on Taxes

RadioOnFire.com - Nearly half of Prince's estate, worth an estimated $200 million, will go to Uncle Sam because he left no known will when he died last April of an accidental painkiller overdose. The music icon did nothing to shelter his assets from the taxman, so roughly $100 million will go to the government for federal and state taxes.
Experts say Prince could have prevented this by setting up an estate plan with trusts to benefit any relatives and charities he chose while leaving little if anything to be taxed. Instead, the value of Prince's estate is now subject to a federal tax of 40 percent and Minnesota's tax of 16 percent. With exclusions and deductions, the total amount will be closer to 50 percent.
Prince's six siblings are expected to equally split what's left. His estate has until Saturday to file an estate tax payment. They can seek an extension for filing the return but can't delay the first payment. Since Prince's estate isn't very liquid, it helps that they don't have to pay the entire amount at once. A recent inventory listed about $110,000 in cash, about $830,000 in gold bars, but no stocks or bonds. It also listed real estate worth about $25.4 million. That inventory doesn't include his entertainment assets, which are still being valued.
It's not clear whether the IRS and Prince's estate will agree on the value of his music catalog because it's difficult to put a dollar value on such assets. If it's similar to Michael Jackson's situation, it indicates a long court battle, as Jackson's court case finally goes to trial in Los Angeles next month over more than $700 million in taxes, interest, and penalties.

Federal Complaint Claim Taxstone's DNA on Murder Weapon

RadioOnFire.com - Yesterday, Monday, January 16th, Daryl Campbell, aka hip-hop podcast host Taxstone, was arrested in connection to a May 2016 shooting at Irving Plaza during which rapper Troy Ave was wounded and one other killed.
A federal complaint now says that DNA believed to belong to Campbell has been found on the trigger, hand grip, and magazine of the semiautomatic handgun used in the Irving Plaza shooting. The complaint continues to claim that Campbell had the gun before the shooting, and videos put him in the green room at Irving Plaza just before the shooting occurred.
Sources previously reported that Campbell's arraignment is scheduled for today.

T.I. Says Leaders Meeting with Trump is Part of a "Willie Lynch" Agenda

RadioOnFire.com - T.I. took to social media on Monday, January 16, to voice his concern over public figures from the Black community meeting with Donald Trump, and to warn any other black leaders and celebrities who might be considering to join along, against doing so.
"Let me tell you something, there is a strategic plan that people are trying to make you a part of, ok?" he said, directing his message toward black and minority artists and athletes, in a recording he uploaded to Instagram. "People have a very Willie Lynch agenda, ok? And you being there, being seen with them, taking pictures and smiling and being positive, it may seem positive to you, but there is a hidden agenda, man."
Tip's message came hours after Martin Luther King Jr.'s eldest son, MLK III, made headlines by joining Donald Trump for a sit down at Trump Tower in New York City on Monday morning. His reference to Willie Lynch (The Willie Lynch Letter) is an allusion to a divide and conquer strategy many historians reference having been incorporated during Slavery in order to get black slaves to dislike themselves and one another, so as to have made them easier to control.
Before signing off, the "Us or Else" rap mogul advises black celebrities to refrain from meeting with the president-elect, unless they have a strategy or attend in the company of a black leader with the power to properly represent the people.
