RadioOnFire.com - Hot 97's Ebro Darden had nothing but good things to say in response to Drake having brought Eminem out to perform with him in Detroit on Tuesday night, August 16. The Ebro In The Morning host found himself navigating through droves of criticism from social media trolls still holding on to his fabricated Drake/Eminem feud rumor, Wednesday morning. "I think it's phenomenal," he said after co-host Laura Stylez made reference to the morning tweets.
"It is dope, because you know Eminem doesn’t come out for much, but why wouldn’t he come out for one of the biggest artists right now in hip-hop, Drake? In Detroit.,” Ebro remarked, downplaying that the event held any significance about what he has since admitted was a joke. Earlier on the radio DJ reposted an Instagram photo of Em and Drake posing before a Detroit Red Wings logo, adding a succession of fist emojis alongside a winking emoji.
It was during the opening show of a four-night stand at New York City's Madison Square Garden that Ebro's sensational tale of a simmering rivalry between the megastars would be debunked, when during a freestyle, Drake alluded to Hot 97 "telling lies." Despite the Toronto rapper placing most of his aim at Funkmaster Flex, Ebro would openly wonder about whether there was any hostility towards him when he got on the radio the following morning. He would soon come clean about his comments being made in fun.
