Jay Z Producing a TV Series On the First African-American Sniper

RadioOnFire.com - News of Jay Z's role in the production of some of the most anticipated television projects in development, continue to hit the presses, with it most recently being announced that an NBC drama based on legendary sniper Nicholas Irving is in the works.
At a New York City press conference last week, Jay was brought to tears as he unveiled plans to bring the tragic story of Kalief Browder to viewers, through a docu-series set to air in early 2017. The music mogul's transition to TV has owned headlines over the past couple of months, with confirmation of numerous programs, including a biopic on Richard Pryor and an HBO movie about Emmett Till, also being born out of his partnership with the Weinstein Company.
Nicholas Irving is an African-American U.S. military veteran whose reputation on the battlefield was so prolific he had an assault rifle named after him. The "Reaper 33" AR-15 is a reference to the 33 kills Irving is credited with executing over the course of four months in service with the U.S. Army 3rd Battalion Infantry, in 2009. He would go on to chronicle his experience in a memoir titled The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers. The Weinstein Company would go on to acquire the rights to the book, leading to the impending television production, which will star Sterling K. Brown in the lead role.
