NFL: Tony Romo Cried to His Mother After Playoff Loss
RadioOnFire.com - Tony Romo had the chance to be the hero, win the game and get rid of the choker reputation he built up. It was fourth-and-2 from the Green Bay 32, late in the fourth quarter, and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback delivered a perfect throw down the sideline to Dez Bryant for a 31-yard gain. Then Packers coach Mike McCarthy challenged the catch and the referees overturned it. The Cowboys subsequently lost the game 26-21 and the Packers moved on to the NFC Championship. Emotions ran high and Romo let it all out to the woman we often run to.
“Just to lose in general is disappointing,” Romo said. “I have played long enough to understand that you don’t have these kinds of teams on your side to play in these games consistently. When you have that opportunity you want to take advantage. It just doesn’t feel very good right now because you feel like you let one slip away and that you had an opportunity with a good ballclub that had a chance to win this thing.
“That is going to eat at you for a while.”
Romo met his mother and broke down into tears. He was incredibly disappointed.
Some people will make jokes because Tony Romo cried, but it was a huge disappointment and something that takes time to get over.
