100 Black Staffers From Capitol Hill Staged A Walkout To Protest Eric Garner And Mike Brown!

RadioOnFire.com - Yesterday, a silent protest was held on the steps of Capitol Hill in regards to the grand jury decisions of both Mike Brown, and Eric Garner. Over a hundred Black staffers walked out of the Capitol in unison, a prayer was held by Senate Chaplain Barry Black stating that they were standing as a “voice for the voiceless.”

Black prayed: “Today as people throughout the nation protest for justice in our lands, forgive us when we have failed to lift our voices for those who couldn’t speak or breathe for themselves…May we not forget that in our national history injustice has often been maintained because good people failed to promptly act. Forgive oh God, our culpability in contributing to our national pathology as you keep us aware of our own capacity to be instruments of injustice.”

The group then stood on the steps of the Capitol with their hands raised, in representation of the Mike Brown refrain “hands up, don’t shoot.”
