RadioOnFire.com - Spike Lee took to social media over the weekend, to express his dismay over how much time has passed in the NFL off season without a team having publicly come forward to invite Colin Kaepernick to consider an offer.
"How Is It That There Are 32 NFL Teams And Kap Is Still A Free Agent? WTF. Smells MAD Fishy To Me,Stinks To The High Heavens," Lee wrote, in a message he wrote in the caption of a photo of he and Colin that he posted to Instagram on Sunday, March 19. The legendary Brooklyn reared filmmaker shared that he had just spent the morning in New York City's Little Italy enjoying brunch with the former San Francisco 49'ers quarterback, only one day before celebrating his 60th birthday. The meet-up had him reflecting on Kaepernick's fate, following a season throughout which he took a stand against police violence, by taking a knee during the National Anthem performance that preceded each game. "This Is Some Straight Up Shenanigans,Subterfuge, Skullduggery And BS," he wrote.
Bleacher Report recently cited that sources divulged to them that 70% of NFL general managers "hate" Kaepernick for the stance he took, and that word around the executives' circle is that is unemployable. Lee was able to think of one team that is desperate enough to try their hand at the speedy play caller. If it were up to him, Kaepernick would be coming to New York. "The New York J-E-T-S Need A Quarterback. Who Is The J-E-T-S Quarterback? Is My Man Joe Willie Namath Coming Back? Crazy Times We Live In. The Question Remains What Owner And GM Is Going To Step Up And Sign Colin So Their Team Has A Better Chance To WIN?" he wrote.
