Anthony Mason, Former NBA Fan Favorite, Dies at Age 48

RadioOnFire.com - Anthony Mason, a longtime NBA player who helped the New York Knicks reach the 1994 NBA Finals, has died at the age of 48.

A Knicks spokesperson confirmed Mason's death to ESPN. The 13-year NBA veteran had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure earlier this month.




Mason's son, Anthony Jr., released a statement:


First, I want to thank all those who offered prayers and well-wishes for my Father, our family really appreciated it. Overnight, New York City and the world lost a legend, a friend, a brother...but more than anything, our father, Anthony Mason. As you all would expect, our father—Big Mase—put up an incredible fight dealing with severe heart issues. I'm wishing this was something else I was writing, but Pops, we've got to let you know we love you and know you'll always be with us.

I ask at this time that you respect our family's privacy with regard to questions as our family takes the time to mourn.

On an up and coming episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” season 10, Kris reveals that someone has a nude video of her that was taken in the comfort of her own home. YIKES! A few sources that’s connected to production explained to TMZ that during filming, Kris sat her whole family down to have a meeting. That’s when she told them someone hacked into her iCloud and stole surveillance footage of her walking around a$ naked in her house and that she’s being extorted for money.

Sick might I add and all of her children agree with me, well except Kim who been there, done that a few years ago. Kris didn’t take this lightly. She took her a$ *fully covered of course* down to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and made a criminal complaint about all the harassing that person was doing. SMH it’s sad when you can’t be comfortable in your own home.

Star of VH1's 'Real Chance of Love' dies

Reports put his age at 33.

The long-haired Givens, known as "Real," was on both spinoffs of The Flavor of Love, which began as a romance show starring Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav.

First, he was a contestant on I Love New York, featuring a Flavor finalist on her own search for love, and then Real Chance, which made him and his brother the objects of female contestants' affection.

He was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2013 and his prognosis looked hopeful after surgery to remove the cancer. However, he relapsed in 2014 and underwent chemotherapy. A fall in January left him bedridden.

Malcolm X was assassinated in Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom on Feb. 21, 1965. A week after his home in Queens was fire-bombed, the civil rights leader is killed right before he was about to address his devoted followers. Activists, actors, and politicians will join together to remember the leader Malcolm X with a ceremony at the site of where he was killed. Over 300 people will hear words from one of Malcolm X’s six daughters, Ilyasah Shabazz, as well as U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel and other elected officials. The ceremony is being held at the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center in Harlem, formerly known as the Audubon Ballroom.

Three members of the Nation of Islam were convicted of murder in his death. Ilyasah Shabazz said she was pleased that the site is now a place for people to get a sense of empowerment. “One of the great things about Malcolm is that he redefined the civil rights movement to include a human rights agenda…so while we are focusing on integrating schools, integrating housing and all these other things, Malcolm said that we demand our human rights ‘by any means necessary.’ And that means…that we have to address these problems. That we have to identify them, and absolutely discuss them.”

NFL: Report, Adrian Peterson Doesn’t Trust Vikings, Not Sure About Returning

RadioOnFire.com - Adrian Peterson will likely be playing football in 2015 after he at some point gets reinstated by the commissioner, but it sounds more and more like Minnesota will not be that place. Peterson admits he loves the new coaching staff that he was only able to play one game under, but it’s the front office and numerous other people that he no longer trusts within the organization. Vikings fans are nervous and fans of other teams can have a glimmer of hope to see AP wearing their team colors.

Peterson told ESPN on Thursday night he is “still uneasy” about the prospect of returning to the Vikings in 2015, saying the organization working with the NFL to put him on the commissioner’s exempt list last September made him question how much support he had from the team for whom he has played his entire career. The 2012 NFL MVP called that decision an “ambush,” adding, “There were people (in the organization) that I trusted, who knew exactly what was said, that weren’t heard from” in the decision-making process.

“It’s hard to say (what my future will be). I love Minnesota. There are people that have had my back, and supported me. Last year, with the things that took place, had a lot of fans that supported me through everything. For the fans, I would definitely love to come back, but then again, it’s a business, when it comes down to business, you can’t get caught up in the loyalty to fans or to a team or anything like that. You know how it is in the NFL. I learned a lot through this process. I’m still uneasy, to be honest with you. I’m still uneasy about a lot of things that took place within the organization. Of course those guys ultimately supported me, and I’m grateful for that. But ultimately, with me being able to be on the inside and see how cards were dealt, how things were worded, this, that and the other, it’s about protecting your brand, your organization, what you have built. In the (grand) scheme of things, not one person counts over that. I get that.”

He has been complying with the NFL’s requirements for reinstatement, adding he talked with Dr. April Kuchuk — the New York University psychiatry instructor with whom commissioner Roger Goodell ordered Peterson to meet — to set up a counseling and treatment plan. He has to meet the requirements of his probation in Texas, as well as a child protective services order in Minnesota, after pleading no contest to reckless injury Nov. 4, but Peterson said he has been doing all the work and plans to play somewhere in 2015.

He’s just not sure yet if it will be with the Vikings.

Then he wound up charged with assault on top of soliciting a prostitute after the women claim Sapp attacked them. He even showed police a video he recorded of one of the women going down on him, thinking it would help his case. Instead it showed police clear evidence of the act involving money and prostitutes, which was $600! He lost his job and other sources of income and now comes a tale that these women have been scamming men they think are wealthy for years and they probably set Sapp up from the jump.

One of the escorts in the Warren Sapp hooker bust was arrested by the NYPD last year — after cops say she ran an upscale sex scam … and fleeced rich dudes out of tons of cash and jewelry.

The female (alleged) mastermind is Quying Boyd — a 34-year-old escort who cops say ran her operation out of Manhattan in 2014.

According to police, Boyd would lure rich guys to their hotel rooms under the guise they were gonna bang — only to swipe everything from money to credit cards to watches when they weren’t looking.

Cops say Boyd jacked at least 3 dudes … and scored more than $50,000 in cash and prizes (including a $40k Roger DuBuis watch).

She was eventually arrested in both 2013 and 2014 and charged with grand larceny … but later released.

Which brings us to Arizona … where she wound up in a room with Sapp — though she claims she did NOT perform any sexual acts on the guy … and has not been accused of stealing anything.

As for the allegations in NY, unclear what happened with her case — but we’re looking into it.

Chicks like this will eventually pick the wrong guy to scam and will pay for it.

Drake’s Latest “Mixtape” Fulfills Cash Money Album Quota!

People didn’t know if it was an album or a mixtape because Drake even called it a mixtape himself. So according to Kyle “KP” Reilly over at DatPiff, it is indeed an official album under Cash Money. Therefore, Drake has fulfilled his 4-album obligation to the label and he can either dip like Lil Wayne or stay if he wants to. KP explained the situation in full details in a statement to HipHopDX.

“Originally we were in talks to release it for free… and have DJ Drama host and even make it an official Gangsta Grillz… however the label was not in favor of that and they struck an agreement to release the project the retail route and it would count towards one of his albums…It was a mutual decision since he wanted to give it away. They [the label] said, ‘Hell no,’ not in those words, so they ‘agreed’ to do it this way as a middle ground and it would count towards his Cash Money deal album total. The label had zero input or creative control over “If You’re Reading This Its Too Late.”

So there you have it! This decision to switch from a mixtape to an album was a very last minute one. “This was about two to three weeks ago when the release plans and label decision was up in the air”, KP added. As you know Drake’s ALBUM hit number 1 in the 1st week selling over 535,000 copies. No one at Cash Money responded yet.

21-Year Old Rapper Rymir Satterthwaite Claims Jay Z Is His Dad. Seeks DNA Test

Rymir Satterthwaite's Godmother, Lillie Coley, filed filed a paternity suit in a New Jersey civil court in December 2014, seeking a DNA test from Jay, real name Shawn Carter, to determine if he's Rymir's dad.



When contacted by The New York Daily News on Thursday, February 19, Coley was surprised the information had gotten out.

This paternity battle has been raging on since 2010 when Rymir's mother, Wanda, named the 45-year old Brooklyn rapper as possibly being the boy's dad.



The two reportedly met and started dating in the early 90's. Jay is from Brooklyn, New York. Wanda graduated from high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1994.

“Right now I can't talk to you about it,” Coley, who is Ryan's legal guardian, said Thursday. "We plan to talk to the public soon. All this attention caught us off guard, We didn't expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren't expecting this.”

A second man thought to be Rymir's father since birth was ruled out by a DNA test. If proven to be true this would be Jay's second child. He has a daughter with singer Beyonce named Blue Ivy.

Drake's 'If You're Reading This' Album Expected To Sell 400K Copies 1st Week. Will Debut At No. 1

Dipset Announce ‘Pledge Of Allegiance’ Tour

RadioOnFire.com - The Dipset reunion continues with the announcement of a new tour, "The Pledge of Allegiance". Camron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jonnes and Freekey Zekey have announced the first dates of shows for their reunion tour, which will also feature Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex. Flex took to Instagram last month to reveal that Diplomats will be making a mixtape and a tour. The tour starts on 24 February in NYC then they'll be visiting SXSW, Miami, Philly, Boston, Vancouver.

Bobbi Kristina -- Life Support Withdrawn Tomorrow ... Anniversary of Whitney's Death

RadioOnFire.com - Bobbi Kristina will be taken off life support tomorrow ... on the 3rd anniversary of Whitney Houston's death ... TMZ has learned.

Brown family sources tell us Bobby has finally made the decision, realizing there is no hope for his 21-year-old daughter to recover.

A source connected with Houston's family told TMZ on Sunday ... Cissy Houston, Whitney's mom, also wanted life support pulled on the anniversary to "bond mother and daughter for eternity." We have not confirmed this, but the NY Post ran the story this AM.

Members of the Brown family are extremely emotional, sobbing over the decision but realizing it's the right thing to do.

TMZ broke the story ... police have launched a criminal investigation because Bobbi Kristina had injuries on her body when she was rushed to the hospital and we're told the target of the investigation is her boyfriend, Nick Gordon.

Jealousy Over Bobbi Kristina Brown's Fame Allegedly Caused BF Nick Gordon To Become Violent

RadioOnFire.com - Nick Gordon is currently being investigated for injuries found on his girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown's body when she was discovered face down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell, Georgia home on Saturday, January 31.



According to TMZ, Gordon has physically abused Bobbi in the past and it's common knowledge among their friends. The investigation is not a surprise to anyone.

Sources say Gordon is jealous of Bobbi's fame. Even though she is the daughter ofBobby Brown and Whitney Houston, Gordon feels like he should get just as much attention because Houston took him into her home and raised him from the age of 12.



The couple were recently offered a television show, but because Bobbi got a better offer than Gordon they turned it down.



Bobbi, 21, is currently in an Atlanta hospital in a medically induced coma. The chances for recovery don't look good. Doctors have told her father there is nothing more they can do. He is relying on his faith in God to bring her back to health.

Here Are The 1,784 RadioShack Stores That Will Close By March 31 Including Baltimore Stores.

RadioOnFire.com - On February 5, RadioShack filed for bankruptcy. As part of its bankruptcy proceedings, the company is going to close a number of its stores, while others will survive as part of an agreement with Sprint to create a "store within a store."

In court documents posted by RadioShack, the company and its creditors detailed plans for which RadioShack stores will close and when.In all, the company plans to close at least 1,784 stores by March 31, with the closures coming in three waves, or tranches. 

The first tranche of closures includes 162 stores and is set to be complete by February 17.

The second tranche includes 986 stores set to be closed by February 28.

And the third tranche includes 636 stores slated to be closed by March 31. 

For my people in Baltimore stores in Owings Mills, Security Mall, West 41s5t St and Washington Blvd are on the closing list.

There's some language in a court document here that says with notice by February 18, certain of the second tranche stores can have their closing date extended to the March 31 deadline.

But either way: 1,784 RadioShack's will be gone in less than two months.
