For better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part right? Not for Phaedra Parks
Phaedra Parks is expected to file for divorce from her husband, Apollo Nida, in the coming few days. According to The Christian Post, sources close to The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star say that she is going to be making a “good financial decision” by leaving Nida before he heads to prison. Nida has been sentenced to eight years behind bars for his involvement in a fraud case. He must turn himself in by Sept. 10.
As for Parks, if she doesn’t file for divorce from Nida, she will be forced to help cover restitution fees — which are quite hefty.
“If the 40 year-old ‘RHOA’ star choose to remain at her husband’s side, she would be forced to help pay the amount of restitution which could cost her around $100,000 a year for the next 20 years — a situation that could have driven her to file the divorce case.”
Phaedra Parks’ divorce seems inevitable at this point, although she does have two young children with Nida, and they could be holding her back. At the same time, she can still have a relationship with Apollo without being married to him — just to save herself from the financial burden that should not be her responsibility. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Nida will be forced to pay $2 million over the next 20 years of his life.
Interestingly enough, sources have revealed that Phaedra and Apollo have been filming for The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 7, so they aren’t separated yet. Despite that, however, a divorce filing is still expected. And as for how Phaedra is handling all of this? Well, her pal Kandi Burruss says Parks has been keeping busy.
“Phaedra’s doing great. She’s basically working. That’s how I deal with things too; when I have a lot going on, I just put more into work, I know that she’s promoting her book and doing the book tour and stuff like that and she’s not really trying to focus as much on what’s happening.”
Phaedra Parks will have to face the divorce demon soon. She needs to make a decision and she needs to think of herself and her children in the process. Most people seem to think that it’s a no-brainer: Phaedra must leave Apollo. There is also the question of whether or not she will move on with her life by dating other people. Eight years is a long time to wait for someone… especially if that someone lied to you and/or has a criminal history. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the two had problems long before this whole fraud thing anyway.
