RadioOnFire.com - Long time Kanye West friend and collaborator Malik Yusef reported on the Hip Hop great's health while at the Grammys on Sunday night, February 12, telling Popsugar that he is still on a break from making music and continues to focus on recuperating. Yusef said that while Ye hasn't fully recovered from the "temporary psychosis" that led to his hospitalization back in the Fall, he is making gains, particularly in regards to his memory.
“I’ve been to his house [and] sat down with him for about six, seven hours, just walking through his health and recovery,” Yusef said. “His memory is coming back, which is super good. [He’s] just healing, spending time with his family.”
West is currently in New York City, where his Kardashian clan plan to meet him for the unveiling of his Adidas Yeezy Season 5 collection on Wednesday, February 15. He was a no-show at the Grammys, as he said he would be should the committee fail to nominate Frank Ocean's Blonde album [albeit, Ocean never even submitted his work for consideration]. Over the past month there hasn't been a whole lot of news coming out of the Kanye camp, other than his wavering on the topic of Donald Trump, which he most recently seemed to denounce by removing his history of tweets supporting the new President.
It is not the first time Yusef has gone public about the status of Kanye's mental health. Back in 2016 Yusef created a media bonanza when during an interview he inferred that West deals with a diagnosed illness that he has wasn't treating because of his refusal to confront the condition on conventional medical terms.
