Boxing: Report, Floyd Mayweather’s Next Fight Could Be FREE For Everyone Watching From Home

RadioOnFire.com - Floyd Mayweather’s fight with Manny Pacquiao shattered pay-per-view records, but his last hurrah might not cost you very much. In fact, it might not cost you at all.

The boxer will fight again Sept. 12, though Mayweather’s camp hasn’t decided on an opponent. Mayweather has said it will be his 49th and final match, and now, a source told CBSSports.com it could be broadcast live on CBS.

The bout is the last of Mayweather’s six-fight deal with Showtime, a CBS subsidiary, so a showdown on free TV absolutely is a possibility. Mayweather also made over $200 million on the Pacquiao fight after pay-per-view sales, so it’s not as though a free fight would hurt him.

Then again, Mayweather news hasn’t been very predictable of late. Some speculated his fight with Pacquiao would be his last until he announced he’d finish out his Showtime deal. And most recently, Mayweather said he’d relinquish his titles, but the World Boxing Organization ended up having to strip him of his welterweight belt Monday.

There even are folks who believe September’s match won’t actually be his last.

“Highly unlikely (he retires in September),” veteran matchmaker Rick Glaser told CBSSports.com. “The state of his financial situation — aka cash on hand — will dictate his future. More than likely, (it’s two) fights and leaving the game.”

Still a fight televised for free could do good things for Floyd. He obviously won’t be hurting for money and it could be a nice PR move to win over some of his biggest haters and critics by giving back to the fans like that.

NFL: Federal Judge Orders Cancellation of Washington Redskins Trademark Registration

RadioOnFire.com - There’s protests and ongoing talks about the Washington Redskins name, with many people feeling like it should be changed while ownership has tried several ploys to prove it isn’t offensive. Well another step has been taken in support of the former as a federal judge in Northern Virginia ordered the cancellation of the Washington Redskins federal trademark registrations on Wednesday.

The decision comes 12 months after the United States Patent and Trademark Office canceled the Redskins’ trademark registration because it considered the team’s name “disparaging to Native Americans.”

More from the Post:
The cancellation doesn’t go into effect until the Redskins have exhausted the appeals process in the federal court system. But even if the Redskins ultimately took the case to the Supreme Court and lost, the team can still use “Redskins” and seek trademark protections under state law. The team has argued, however, that a cancellation of its trademarks could taint its brand and remove legal benefits that would protect against copycat entrepreneurs.
U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee’s decision affirmed an earlier ruling last year by the federal Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, which voted 2-to-1 that “Redskins” was offensive to Native Americans and ineligible under the Lanham Act for status in the federal trademark registry.

NFL: Donovan McNabb Arrested Again For DUI

RadioOnFire.com - Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb found himself in hot water after he was arrested for DUI after rear-ending another car at a stoplight in Gilbert, Ariz., according to a statement from the Gilbert Police Department.
The Gilbert PD did not specify whether McNabb took a field sobriety test or what his BAC was, but he was taken to a holding facility before being cited and released.
Here is the entire statement from the Gilbert police:
On 06/28/2015 at approximately 2335 hours, officers responded to a non-injury collision involving two vehicles which occurred just west of the intersection at E Chandler Heights Rd and S Higley Rd in Gilbert, AZ. Subsequent investigation revealed Donovan McNabb (11/25/76) was impaired by alcohol and collided in a rear-end fashion with another vehicle which was stopped at a red traffic signal. Donovan was arrested for DUI at 2358 hours and transported to the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility for processing, after which, he was cited and released.
McNabb was also arrested for DUI after he was caught drunk driving in December of 2013.

NFL: Russell Wilson Admits He & Ciara Haven’t Had Sex, Waiting For Marriage!

RadioOnFire.com - Russell Wilson is getting REALLY ahead of himself right now talking about marriage with Ciara since they haven’t been dating all that long, but that’s secondary news at the moment. Russ admitted last night that he and CiCi haven’t had sex yet, despite her being a fantasy for millions of men.

Russell Wilson is literally practicing what he preaches, saying that he and his super fine pop superstar GF Ciara aren’t doing the horizontal bedroom dance until after their wedding dance.

Wilson sat down for an Q&A session at The Rock church yesterday where he talked about his relationship with Ciara and dropped a holy bombshell about their sex life.

“I asked her what would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus’ way, no sex?”

Russell says Ciara agreed … and since that time, their hot and heavy relationship has been filled with cold showers … and absolutely NO banging.

Wilson does admit staying celibate ain’t easy since Ciara is a “15 out of 10″ … so he’s begging the churchgoers and Christians all around to help him in his journey.

“I need ya’ll to pray for us.”

NBA: Manu Ginobili Says He Will Return To The Spurs!

RadioOnFire.com - The San Antonio Spurs just know what they are doing. There is no other way to put it. After acquiring a huge pick up in LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs were able to convince Manu Ginobili to come back for his 13th season!

If Manu Ginobili did not return to the Spurs, their bench would have been impacted heavily. With him staying, however, they are once again reloaded and are easily one of the dominant forces in the Western Conference.

The Spurs recently gave up Corey Joseph, Marco Belinelli, Tiago Splitter, and Aron Baynes and honestly, all of these guys are definitely replaceable. I have no doubt that the Spurs will be able to go out gather quality players to recharge their bench once again. They still have elite players like Patti Mills–who could definitely start on another team–who come off the bench.

The Spurs are an insanely scary team after looking at their starting five of Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tim Duncan! Each player, excluding Danny Green, has been an All Star and has experience going deep into the playoffs. They are definitely going to be a problem in the league next season.

This upcoming season is going to be very exciting in the Westen Conference to say the least. The Spurs made an unfortunate early exit in the 2015 playoffs after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers–which by the way was a historic first round match up–but I do not see that happening again. Looking at the way things are currently set up out West, I would not be surprised to see San Antonio in the WCF.

NCAA: Big Trouble! Florida State QB, De’Andre Johnson, Punches Girl In The Face & It’s Ugly!

RadioOnFire.com - Jameis Winston might be in the NFL now, but Florida State is still having trouble with their quarterbacks and how they treat women. De’Andre Johnson, who was in contention to take over the starting job this season, has been suspended indefinitely and will probably be kicked out of school now that a video of him punching a girl in the face at a bar has been released.

Johnson (6-foot-1, 177 pounds) is an incoming freshman from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High. He enrolled at FSU in January and competed in spring practice.
The school has only confirmed that Johnson was suspended for a violation of athletic department policy, according to the Tallahassee Democrat, and Johnson has yet to be charged with a crime, according to the report on ESPN.com. The woman declined comment and further medical treatment after being treated at the scene.
This was BEFORE the video was released and seen by the public. Things are going to get much worse for Johnson now. In the video released by the State Attorney’s Office, Johnson was at the Tallahassee bar Yiannis when he got into a nasty exchange with a woman at the bar. The woman tried to throw a punch at Johnson but missed, at which point he threw a punch back at her and slammed his fist into her face.
Now I’m not here to bash Johnson because in the video you can see the girl tries to do something to him first but we don’t know what caused her to do that either. Also, Johnson needs to be smarter and realize regardless of the reason he can NEVER do that.

NFL: Giants Withdraw JPP’s $60 Million Contract Offer After Firework Incident

RadioOnFire.com - It isn’t really much of a surprise that the Giants have decided to with draw their offer of $60 million to Jason Pierre-Paul after he was hurt during the 4th of July. Although reports were initially saying JPP’s injuries are not career ending, the Giants’ move to withdraw definitely speaks volumes.

There has not been too many updates surrounding the condition of JPP other than the fact that he would most likely still be able to play. However, JPP is said to still be in the hospital receiving treatment, so, that in itself tells us that his injuries are not minor.

Early reports were indicating that he suffered severe burns to his fingers and the palm of his hand. Also, doctors were reportedly looking to see if any of his fingers suffered nerve damage. JPP has been hospitalized since Saturday and unfortunately, no real status of his well being has been released.

Great news, though, is that JPP has not lost any of his fingers and that is always a concern when talking about explosives. The Giants pre-season games are just a little more than a month away, so, from a business standpoint, it is understandable why they would withdraw such a big contract from an injured player.

JPP is going to be a free agent during Summer 2016 and it is reported that he was going to decline the offer anyway. Unfortunately for JPP, the Giants decided to use their franchise tag on him to ensure that he would play for another year, however, he has not even signed that. So, what does this mean for JPP going forward financially?

We definitely will be watching close to see if the extent of his injuries are released and weather or not he will be able to touch the field by the time the regular season rolls around.
