Beyoncé To Launch Athletic Street-Wear Brand

Beyoncé and TopShop's owner Sir Philip Green have announced a new joint venture called Parkwood TopShop Athletic, which will produce "athletic street-wear" and launch later this year.

The brand will encompass clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports-wear.

Sir Philip Green said: "We have been looking at this category as fashion inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers' heartland.

“Creating a partnership with Beyoncé, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category."

Topshop has a track record of collaborating with famous names on clothing lines, most famously the model Kate Moss.

Beyoncé said: "I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved TopShop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking."

Sir Philip said he is considering launching the food stores in response to the rush from supermarkets such as Tesco into smaller high street locations and customer research that suggested shoppers wanted to buy food from BHS.

Jay Sean Leaves Cash Money Records, Issues Statement. Releases 'Tears In The Ocean' Music

After six years and two albums Jay Sean has left Cash Money Records. The British singer told Billboard that there was no bad blood and that he appreciated what the label did for his career.
"I had and still maintain a great relationship with Slim and Baby [CEOs of Cash Money]. They believed in me and my talent and our partnership obviously garnered a lot of pop success. It got to the point where I was chasing pop success and 'the smash' when really my heart wasn't in it anymore. That's not why I got into this game."

Next up for Jay is a mixtape entitled Mistress II, which will be released in November. On it he is going back to his original R&B roots.
"When Sade drops a new album, you know she's not going to be suddenly singing over an EDM beat produced by the hottest DJ at the time. Or jumpin' on the bandwagon of what the latest 'sound' is. You should be able to do you. That's what differentiates an artist from a singer."
Check out the singer's new music video for "Tears in the Ocean."

Iran Hangs Woman, Reyhaneh Jabbari, For Killing Man She Says Tried To Rape Her

TEHRAN, Iran (Associated Press) — Iran hanged a woman on Saturday who was convicted of murdering a man she said was trying to rape her, the official IRNA news agency reported.
Amnesty International and other human rights groups had called on Iran's judiciary to halt the execution. But IRNA said Reyhaneh Jabbari was hanged at dawn for premeditated murder. It quoted the court ruling as rejecting the claim of attempted rape and saying all evidence proved that Jabbari had plotted to kill Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi, a former intelligence agent.

According to the court ruling Jabbari, 27, stabbed Sarbandi in the back in 2007 after purchasing a knife two days earlier.
"The knife had been inflicted on the back of the deceased, indicating the murder was not self-defense," the agency quoted the court ruling as saying.
IRNA said the police investigation found that Jabbari sent a text message to a friend saying she would kill Sarbandi three days before the deadly incident.
Jabbari was found guilty of premeditated murder in 2009 but the sentence was only carried out after Iran's Supreme Court upheld the verdict. The victim's family could have saved Jabbari's life by accepting blood money but they refused to do so.

High School Shooting Near Seattle Leaves 2 Dead, Including Gunman. 4 Critically Wounded

MARYSVILLE, Wash. - A student opened fire Friday morning at Marysville Pilchuck High School, killing one student and critically injuring at least four others before fatally shooting himself, police and witnesses said.

Squadrons of police cars swarmed to the school at about 10:45 a.m. after receiving reports of an active shooter opening fire.

The shooter, a student at the school, fired several shots at other students in the school cafeteria. Five students were hit by the gunfire, and one of them was killed. The four others were severely injured. The shooter then turned the gun on himself.

"We are confident there is only one shooter and the shooter is deceased," said Marysville Police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux in a noon briefing.

A spokeswoman at Providence Hospital in Everett said four young victims were transported there after the shootings. Three of them are in very critical condition with head wounds and are undergoing surgery. The fourth student is in critical but stable condition, and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

One student, Alex, said she was in the cafeteria when the shooting started.

"I was eating and I hear four gunshots," she said. "So I look behind me and I saw a gun pointing at this one kid who I knew. ... As soon as everyone saw the gun or heard the gunshots, they ran toward the wall. Some kids ran out the exit that I ran out of."

Alex said she estimated about 50 to 60 students were in the cafeteria at the time. "I ran first for the wall, and then I thought, 'I'm not staying in here.' So I ran out and called my mom."

Police said they do not know the shooter's motive.
At least 20 police cars and multiple ambulances responded to the shootings.
