Azealia Banks On Bleaching Her Skin: “What’s The Difference Between Getting A Hair Weave & Changing Your Skin Color?"

RadioOnFire.com - Azealia Banks recently went on Facebook Live to speak to her fans regarding rumors she was bleaching her skin.
The 25-year old Harlem, New York native got right to the point, admitting she was in the process of "skin lightening" and compared it to any other cosmetic procedure.

"I see that you guys really want to talk to me about this whole skin lightening thing and skin bleaching thing and why I did it, what does it mean? Blah, blah blah," Banks said. "I don't think it's really important to discuss the cultural significance of skin bleaching anymore. Because I think that as African American people or just as black people in this world, you assimilate. There are just things that you accept ... not out of necessity, but you know, things that kind of become norm because it's just happening all the time. I guess people look at the skin lightening thing or the skin bleaching thing as different, but I see it as another assimilation thing.
“What’s the difference between getting your nose done and changing your skin color?” the 25-year-old rapper continued. “What’s the difference between getting a hair weave and changing your skin color? Nobody was upset when I was wearing 30-inch weaves and tearing out my edges. You guys loved it, but what is the difference? I don’t understand what difference is, because there really isn’t a difference. To say that it negates anything that I’ve said about this current situations of blackness in America is stupid. What do body modifications have to do with someone’s intellect? The two don’t correlate. “

Lord Jamar On Troy Ave Shooting: "He Went From Looking Like The Craziest Man In The World To Maybe Being A F*cking Hero Out Here"

RadioOnFire.com - Only the people who were inside the green room when the Troy Ave shooting occurred actually know what happened. Since that is the case, there's been rampant unsubstantiated rumors about the May 25 incident at New York City's Irving Plaza.
Lord Jamar recently sat down with VladTV to offer his take on the situation. "We see the video of (Troy) busting through the door popping off. The initial thing (I thought) was 'Whoa, you just did some crazy sh!t on camera.' And it appeared that he was being real reckless," Jamar said. "That just seemed real crazy, like why would he do that? As time goes on you start to hear more stories and things like that makes a lot more sense.
"What we're hearing now is he went from looking like the craziest man in the world to maybe being a f*cking hero out here," the Brand Nubian rapper continued. "As far as the story I'm hearing, if that's the real story, that makes a lot more sense. If I just saw you shoot my man and you just shot me, and now I got ahold of the gun .. he just did some real n!gga sh!t. He saw his man get hit, got shot in the leg, had the presence of mind to pick up the gun, calmly walk through the door and start popping? That's the type of sh!t that real motherf*ckers is taught to do."
Check out the full interview below to hear Jamar explain why Troy might still face a tough legal situation, despite acting in self defense.

Atlanta Hawks Sign Dwight Howard to a 3-Year, $70.5 Million Deal

RadioOnFire.com - Eight-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard is returning to the East Coast, and not to just any city; the well traveled center will be playing for his hometown Atlanta Hawks in 2016-17. The Hawks reached a $70.5 million three-year deal with the 30-year-old athlete on Friday, July 1. The contract pans out to average $23.5 million per year.
With the signing the Hawks are left with just enough cap room for one more major signing. They face the task of deciding whether to bring back guard Kent Bazemore or power forward Al Horford. Both men have attracted a wealth of interest on the market with the Houston Rockets inviting Hall of Famers Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwan to join James Harden at their meeting to pitch a deal to the free agent.
In any case, Howard joins a playoff contender who've experienced success under coach Mike Budenholzer over the past couple of seasons. He brings a career 17.8 average with a remarkable 12.7 rebounds per game. In 2016, Howard proved he's got some more in the tank, going on a tear in January, where he scored 10 straight double-doubles; a league record.
