NBA: Steph Curry Will Be Named 2014-2015 NBA MVP!!

RadioOnFire.com - Congratulations are in order for Steph Curry after news was just leaked that he will be named the NBA MVP for the 2014-2015 season! The award should come as no surprise because the only real competitor down the stretch was the Rockets James Harden but it was already assumed Steph would win. The announcement is expected to be made before the Warriors play game two of their series against the Grizzlies.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry will be named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, multiple league sources told CSNBayArea.com in recent days.


Official announcement will come this week, sources said, likely on Monday between Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference semifinals series between the Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The timing of the announcement, one source said Sunday morning, remains flexible and could become between Games 2 and 3 of the Warriors-Grizzlies series.

Curry, who scored a game-high 22 points in a 101-86 Warriors victory over Memphis earlier today, will become the first Warrior in the franchise’s 53-year California history to win the league’s highest individual honor. The 27-year-old in February started the All-Star Game for the second consecutive season, this time leading all players in number of votes.

The sixth-year point guard averaged 23.8 points per game (sixth in the league), 7.7 assists (sixth) and 2.04 steals (fourth). He shot 44.3 percent from 3-point distance (fourth), 91.4 percent on free throws (first) and his 48.7 percent overall shooting percentage led all point guards.

The runner-up in the voting, according to sources, was Houston guard James Harden, who was considered the co-leader in the two-man race with Curry. My personal opinion is Harden should have won considering he had less to work with and still had his Rockets right in the thick of things, but nobody can be mad at this, except Harden!

Boxing: Floyd Mayweather’s Grandmother Turns Up On Pacquiao!

RadioOnFire.com - The excitement that the Mayweather family felt after watching Floyd be crowned as Champion for the 48th time in a row was definitely evident as they exited the MGM Grand Arena. In an impromptu interview, Mama Mayweather chimes in on her thoughts of Manny Pacquiao.


If you watched, “Inside Mayweather/Pacquiao” then you probably saw one of Floyd’s exes mention that she feels no different going into this fight against Pacquiao. Her reasoning behind not feeling any different was simply that she has heard it all before, “Every few years they always talk about this guy who is supposed to take Floyd down and he doesn’t…” and well, she was right. I guess Floyd’s grandmother felt the same way about Pacquiao because she thinks Pac-Man needs to apologize for “talking sh!t” and losing.

When Floyd’s grandmother was asked if she thinks he and Pacquiao can be friends after this fight, she flat out says, “He got to apologize…he talked all kinds of shit…” and she didn’t stop there while coming at Pac-Man’s neck. She insists that Floyd never took drugs a day in his life but she was not too sure about “that other guy,” Pacquiao.

Interesting she would say that considering one of the reasons this fight took so long to go down was because Mayweather and Pacquiao could not agree on terms of blood testing before the fight. At one point, Manny was accused of taking performance enhancing drugs and Floyd wanted strict blood testing to be done going into this fight. I think the fact that she brought that up while exiting the MGM Grand could definitely spark some great debates about how that could have possible factored into Pacquiao losing this fight.

NBA: Chris Paul Hits Game Winner To Close The Series & Send The Spurs Home

Chris Paul just nailed a tough one handed jumper over Tim Duncan & Kawhi Leonard with one second left to give the Clippers a 111-109 win in game seven and send the Spurs home for the summer.

The Clippers now move on to face the Houston Rockets in what will no doubt be competitive but it will have ALOT to live up to based on this series! To give you an idea of how close the Spurs & Clippers classic seven game series was, the total score of all seven games was Clippers 724, Spurs 721!

Still Undefeated! Floyd Mayweather Wins Decision Over Manny Pacquiao

RadioOnFire.com - The biggest fight in the history of boxing is now history itself! Manny Pacquiao put on a good show and outscored Floyd in a few rounds, but overall Floyd held control and was able to cruise to the victory.

The judges had the bout scored 118-110, 116-112, 116-112, which indicates that even in a sport that can be shady at times, the winner tonight was clear. Hate him or love him, you will respect him as Floyd can now lay claim to the best boxer of our generation and maybe ever.

Unlike some of Floyd’s previous fights, he engaged with Pacquiao much more and even when Manny came strong with his punches, Floyd took his best shots and kept his usual composure.

Trust me, there will be much more to come on this fight. Congrats to the champ!
