NFL: The Game Says He Would Love Ray Rice on the 49ers But There’s One Problem

RadioOnFire.comFormer Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice successfully appealed his suspension from the NFL and has been reinstated.  There are reportedly four teams who expressed interest in Rice including the Saints and Colts but those reports has since been refuted.  Even teams in need of a running back are reluctant to take on what would be a PR nightmare.  Still not everyone is against him and there are some people who would love to have him on their team.  Rapper The Game says he would love Ray Rice on the 49ers.
TMZ Sports caught up with The Game after his birthday party at the Supper Club in Hollywood.  The Game says he would love to have Rice on his team which is the San Francisco 49ers but he has one problem.  No the problem isn’t what Rice did to his wife Janay, Game says the 49ers already have a pretty good system in place with Frank Gore.
The Game was also asked if Mike Vick or Ray Rice have a bigger uphill battle after their scandals.  Game tried to avoid the controversial topic but soon answered that Vick’s transgression was worse.  Vick was of course arrested and served time for dogfighting while Rice struck a deal after knocking out his fiancee Janay.

NFL: Two Teams Looking to Trade For 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh

RadioOnFire.comThere’s been several denials about Jim Harbaugh leaving the San Francisco 49ers but where’s there’s smoke there’s usually fire and the rumors are continuing to pick up steam.  Even if the 49ers make it to the playoffs and make a run from there, Harbaugh could still be on his way out the door and there’s two teams that are reportedly interested in him.
via ESPN:
No matter how tenuous the San Francisco 49ers’ situation currently is, the fate of coach Jim Harbaugh won’t be resolved until after this season, according to sources.
If the 49ers can pull off a 4-0 finish to the regular season and make a run in the postseason that some in the organization are still convinced is possible, Harbaugh could land a contract extension, sources said.
He will have one year remaining on his existing deal but has already rebuffed extension offers.
It is no secret that Harbaugh will be a commodity that interests other teams at season’s end, like he did last season with the Cleveland Browns — the 49ers even considered trading Harbaugh to Cleveland.
The Oakland Raiders and New York Jets both are expected to, at the very least, inquire about Harbaugh’s availability in a trade, a source said.
One NFL source is convinced the Raiders are the favorite to land Harbaugh, but the Jets also are known to be keeping a close eye on Harbaugh’s situation.

NFL: St. Louis Rams Take the Field Doing ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ Pose

RadioOnFire.com - Michael Brown has not been forgotten.  It’s been almost a week since the grand jury’s decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of the unarmed teenager was announced.  Numerous athletes have taken to their social media accounts, namely Twitter and Instagram to address their feelings on the matter.  Many have expressed grief, disappointment and anger.  Today the St. Louis Rams took things a step further to show their solidarity by entering the field in the “hands up, don’t shoot” mantra that has been a main stay in the Ferguson protests.
Today the St. Louis Rams are playing the Oakland Raiders in a home game at the Edward Jones Dome.  As they came out of the tunnel Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt, Chris Givens, and Jared Cook did the “hands up, don’t shoot” pose showing solidarity and support for Michael Brown and the Ferguson protestors.
The Edward Jones Dome has been the site of protests both outside before and after games and inside during the game as well.  Since the announcement that Darren Wilson will be let go, the protests have continued nationwide as people are determined to make their voices heard and seek change.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch Considering Retirement Again

RadioOnFire.comI feel like I’ve written this story before… oh yea I have.  Apparently Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch considering retirement from the NFL yet again.
via CBS Sports:
Although Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch continues to be one of the top running backs in the NFL eight seasons into his career, he might consider retiring following the 2014 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Sources with direct knowledge of Lynch’s thinking said the 28-year-old running back and former 2007 first-round pick is weighing the possibility of retiring after this season. It apparently isn’t the first time Lynch has considered retirement. Sources added Lynch confided in two teammates last season he might retire if the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, which they did. However, Lynch returned this season after holding out at the start of training camp. Lynch did receive an increase in pay to $5.6 million this season.
One issue for Lynch is regarding his health, as he has battled back pain over the last four seasons. The cartilage in his spinal cord is compressed, which brings him discomfort, according to the report.
Several sources have previously indicated the Seahawks are expected to part ways with Lynch after the season due to a combination of reasons, including salary and age. If Lynch continues to play football, then the future of Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable could have an impact on Lynch’s decision. If Cable lands a head-coaching job, then Lynch might consider following Cable to wherever he signs because the two have a good relationship.
One extra positive note for Lynch is, he’ll never have to speak to the media if he doesn’t want to ever again…

NFL: Four Teams Are Reportedly Interested In Possibly Signing Ray Rice

RadioOnFire.com - Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice won his appeal and is reinstated back into the NFL.  His next hurdle is finding a team that would essentially take on a public relations nightmare by signing the now disgraced RB.  Though Rice and his wife Janay have moved on from the domestic violence incident that captured the attention of the nation, people still hold serious resentment towards the NFL player that knocked out his wife and dragged her lifeless body out of an elevator.  Well this is the NFL and they’ve even forgiven murders and alleged rapists so all is not lost.  It turns out four teams are reportedly interested in possibly signing Ray Rice but he doesn’t have to the greenlight to get back in the game just yet.

via ESPN:
At least four teams have expressed interest in recently reinstated running back Ray Rice, including Indianapolis and New Orleans, though the Colts and Saints are not expected to pursue him, according to multiple league sources.
Two sources declined to identify the other two teams that have been checking into Rice.
It still will be difficult for Rice to find work this season. He turns 28 in January, is coming off a down season and hasn’t played football since training camp. But Rice signing this season is not out of the question, either, if the right team should emerge.
Multiple NFL executives have said the profile of a team willing to sign Rice would be one that is a contender with injuries in its backfield and a strong-minded head coach.
Rice is said to have stayed in great shape, and believes he could provide help to any team that signs him immediately. But Rice also is not locked into playing this year, as much as he’d like to, per sources.
